According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple plans to make a series of "major design" and "format changes" to the iPhone in the coming years.

The paid report released today confirms the widely circulated "iPhone 17 Air", which has an "ultra-thin" design that is thinner than the current iPhone model. The report didn't mention specific dimensions, but previous rumors suggested that the device could be between 5mm and 6.25mm thick, while the iPhone 16 series has a minimum thickness of 7.8mm. The thinnest model ever is the iPhone 6, which is 6.9mm thick, so the iPhone 17 Air will break this record.
Apple also reportedly plans to release two foldable devices in the future. It says that one of the devices will be the largest MacBook ever, with a foldable 19-inch screen, while the other is a foldable iPhone that will have an inward-facing display when unfolded, which is larger than the one on the 6.9-inch iPhone 16 Pro Max.
According to the report, Apple plans to release a foldable iPhone in 2026 or 2027, while a MacBook with a foldable screen may be unveiled later.
